The digital etching process is one I have worked on over the last several years. The process is contained entirely in the computer. Thousands of mouse strokes and layers upon layers of color and line crete the patterns which ultimately define each new work. All the work from inception to printing and framing is done by me, on site. At the end of the process I sign each piece by hand.
The time involved in these pieces can be as little as several days, to several weeks or months. As an etcher and printmaker for over thirty years, this new process is the most exciting and demanding artistic endeavor I have undertaken. Because original plate exists, I consider every piece to be an original.
I hope you will understand and appreciate that this is a new medium, which few artists currently work in. This is a new direction for art, so there are no historic rules and guidelines to follow. It requires all new processes, new sensebilities and above all else...imagination. I truely hope you will come along with me on this exciting journey. - Margaret
